I have fought this battle before and my solution,was to make a guide which utilized at least two of the other bolt holes to keep it in place. I used 1 1/2" by 1/2" bar stock and drilled a perfectly perdendicular hole and then pressed a hardened drill guide into the hole. You can bolt the whole thing to the side of the block . Be sure and slot or elongate your mtg. holes so you can center the guide over the broken stud.
