Alan, The best useage of a front/rear locker
setup is when you are stuck and really need all-wheel pull. Take the lockup design of the past Jeep CJs that used power-trac. It was strictly for forward or rear pulling in extreme situations but not intended to be used for turning and prolonged use in 4-wheeling. I heard several make claims about front lockers and steering but if locking hubs are used and only when extreme pulling in a forward direction is needed, the front lockers won't interfer with the steering of freewheeling hubs. Of course when not needed you would not have the T-case front drive engaged also.
A rear locker will get you more places than the stock diff.will so the front axle and/or locker will be less often needed except in extreme pulling conditions and even if you must turn some while a front locker is engaged, the effort should be brief until you are past a bad mud hole or unstuck.
I would not worry myself about a front locker. If you install one fine if not, then you've got money to use on something you might need more.
