Modern Axles, Engine, Trans for PW?

I'd like to buy and modify a flat fendered Power Wagon to use all modern driveline components, including an EFI motor such as a 5.9L or 5.7L Hemi or ? The later diffs/axles, for example, would provide more options for brakes, wheels, gear ratios, but I haven't read what newer stuff fits and works.
