I too am going to modify one of my flat fender PWs,with a late model drive train.At first I was going to use a'74 GMC 1 ton 4x4 drive train, I had avaible.I started thinking, it would be better to keep it all Dodge,just because.I work for the California State Hiway Dept.I resently went to the state auction,they had three 1 ton early '90's 4x4 Dodge pickups,one with a Cummins,the other two with 360's.Not wanting one right away(space and time problem)I wanted to know what they sold for.To my suprise all went between 3,500 and 4,000. You could use everything from spring hangers to powersteering and everthing in between.
Check into your state hiway auctions,you might be suprised.
