I have a question on my '49 PW, it goes like this, just below the carb is a:
1) fiber gasket
2) a steel plate
3) fiber gasket
The steel plate is actually smaller in diameter than the carb and manifold throat.
Is this meant to choke down the air flow and or act as a heatsink for the carb.
I ran the engine with it and without it (less than 5 five min.) and found no differance in engine operation.
Thanks in advance
Bob C.
