You provided some good information in a thread below about Scotch Blocks.
I had a heavy duty set special made 40 years ago to use with my truck and Jeep when I was heavily into four wheeling. They are 12-inches square and have six lengths of angle iron welded to the bottoms in a chevron pattern so they grip VERY well whatever ground is under me. I also had heavy pipe bumpers on the front of both that extended out past either side of the vehicle by a few inches.
You mentioned that you use a set with your M37 and Power-Wagon. How did you modify your trucks to provide a strong placed to chain them too? On occasion I have wanted to use them with my WDX and B3PW, but I don't want to twist the front bumpers of either truck out of shape. There is just no good place to hood one up to the front bumper on a Power-Wagon. If I were to drill a hole in each end of the bumper, or weld on a hook or clevis, they would be right out at the end where there they are the weakest. And, it would look awful.
I have thought about making a mount out of a heavy channel that could be quickly clamped to the font bumper of a Power-Wagon, and that would stick out further than the original bumper so that the chains would be in-line with the centers of the front tires. But that would be heavy and just something else that would have to be stored and carried in the back of the truck.
