CA has re-categorize how we separate household and yard waste to minimize the production of methane gas at landfills. I'm not sure how adding food soiled paper, bakery goods, eggshells, popcorn, etc., along with yard waste is to help that in a compost pile. Methane being the cleanest burning fossil fuel, and when produced by food and green waste, it literally pulls CO2 from the air. You would think we might want to capture that to run methane burning engines w/generators, which produce significantly less carbon dioxide, to generate electricity. Oh I keep forgetting, we don't want America to be self-sufficient, I get it.
