The way I install pan gaskets on a 230...spray adhesive. It works perfectly & I've never had one leak. Works just as well from under the truck or with the engine on an engine stand. It’s important to put the adhesive on both surfaces & let it dry. I simply spray the adhesive on a piece of cardboard & then use my finger to apply it to avoid overspray. Once the gaskets go on...they’re not going anywhere. This allows you to position the end cork gaskets into the lip of the pan, cut the ends & it just eliminates all the problems & cursing. Works great for me for the last 30 years or so. Might be harder to get the gasket off later...I don’t know...I’ve never had a leak & needed to remove one :)
