My 327 is really smooth at idle and like yours loves high rpm. I put an Edelbrach intake and carb along with a MSD distributor and electronic ignition.

I started with vac assist brakes but could only use a 7” system which didn’t cut it. I went to a hydroboost and it works much better.

Like your it will hit 70mph and higher with out any hesitation. I am really surprised how stable, smooth riding and directionally stable it is. At 60mph I can let go of the wheel and it will track right down the freeway for quite a distance before I have to give it a minor correction. But I put a lot of effort into rebuilding the entire front end and steering to get rid of any slop. I am running 9.00 x 16 Michelins. Braking is not an issue at all. It has front disks and original rear drums with a dual circuit master cylinder.

I hit the freeway a couple times a year but drive it mostly on secondary roads.
