It's rebuilt using the original disk and Borg & Beck pressure plate that came with the transmission and fork when I pulled them out of a 1964 D500. The guy who rebuilt it said it should be around 3,200 pounds at maximum, so it shouldn't require that much more leg than stock (which is usually around 2,600-2,800). When I gave it to them, I just requested a better lining than stock, but no other modifications. But with the pivot ball, I DID have to weld the back of the ball socket around the perimeter, because it had cracked and was slightly pushed outward. I hammered it back to as close to where it should originally be, then welded it all of the way around... I had completely forgotten to factor that into all of this. I'm heading out to the garage to inspect the fork. I feel like a dunce now- that may be the entire problem. Thanks!!
