You're having to apply about 23% more pedal pressure than before so it's going to be a little more difficult. Since the ball is welded in place, the only suggestions I have would be to push the the ball closure to the clutch via cut/weld or replace the bell housing.
Anytime we modify stock configurations, it's a hit and miss adventure till we work it out. You'll find the solution, however, it's aggravating until you do. Hang in there!
