As you know Bruce, I’m the resident firetruck expert :)
So it’s pretty common to see firetrucks that look like this with similar miles. For starters, every mile would have been off-road. Next, the engine usually will have 7000 hours running a pump either while on the job or training.
Then the interior on these just take a beating because the firemen are in & out of them with all their gear on.
Looks pretty normal to me. Usually even a 4000 mile firetruck is beat. The body will be nice...maintenance good but mechanically beat & cosmetically thrashed from even before the first road trip because the trucks are purchased by the government & so the truck is no different to them than the company skillsaw you throw down from the roof when you finish that one last cut up there.
They haywire in all their switches & wires drilled in with their hole hogs :)
Keep in mind Bruce, these trucks get a lot of use but not many miles while they fight the Bush fires that the firemen light so that they can remain employed working overtime hours all Summer ;)
That’s my experience anyway :)
