Maybe I'm missing something, but as other's have said the bearings are still easily available and common in other applications, as are the single cups, it's the double cup that is no longer produced, but the double cup is just two single cups with a spacer in the middle. I had found an article where someone had basically machined that spacer for their rebuild when I was looking for one, but I don't have that ability.
Seems like an opportunity for someone to start making and selling spacers so you can just stack a set of single cups. Considering what the double cups cost, and that it would be re-usable you should easily be able to charge enough to make it worth the effort. Hell, I'd buy a pair and put them aside just in case.
