Spline count change on WC front axle drive shaft

Hello All,
I picked up my rebuilt 8.75” 4.10 ratio third member from the gear shop. They left the 1-3/8-16 spline side gears on the unit. I had asked them to swap those side gears out for the 1-5/16-16 side gears to fit my Rzeppa joints on my 1/2 ton WC. Is it possible to have a shop cut the 1-5/16-16 splines on the Rzeppa shaft and weld on some 1-3/8-16 splines to the shaft. That way it might be cheaper than having them take the whole 3rd member apart, change out the side gears and set it all back up again. Could I use the 1-3/8-16 splines off a rear axle shaft for this. Thanks for any advice.
