I took the third member back to the shop today and they said they would correct the problem at no charge. They will have to remove the 1/2 ton side gears from a case I have and then dissemble the complete 3rd member with the wrong side gears, re-essemble with the correct gears and set it all back up. I said to them I would be willing to pay for the take down of the case, but they said no, it will all be at no charge. Hey Daryl, the owner is a Kiwi. Just like you Aussies, he is a heck of a nice guy. The guys business is called Pete’s gear shop. He is located in Hayward Calif. He wanted to see my truck, so I loaded up the third member parts and drove it about 40 miles over to his place of business. Maybe seeing the truck helped me out as far as the re-work $ needed. LOL. Cruising over at 55-60 MPH was great with a lot of people giving me the thumbs up. I was in the slow lane so maybe that is why they were giving me the thumbs up instead of the middle finger.
