That is a good question. When we got to the restaurant the other night, it was running at 200 degrees at least when I shut it down. When we came out after eating, about 45 minutes later, it started up at about 160.

The first time it happened a year and a half ago on the 100 mile trip home, we stopped twice to let it cool. I would say we were stopped for about 20 minutes each time.

I did notice last night while comparing the two as far as timing, I backed this one out and went right in to back the other out. Once I had them both out and idling, this one was already at 160 which I thought was fast. I never really let the other one warm up and after checking the timing, it still was not even up to 100 degrees.

I do not think there are any air pockets in the block. Just moving around the yard it is unlevel so I am driving either uphill or downhill. It takes about 5-1/2 gallons to fill. No overflow tank.
