4BT exhaust manifold question

Hi Guys, I have an opportunity to purchase a 4BT exhaust manifold from a bread truck. It has the turbo port coming off the rear facing straight down. I just picked up a used 4BTA from a piece of equipment with the upwards facing port, so I know that exhaust manifold is scrap to me. Can anyone suggest their exhaust manifold experiences and fitment issues installing a rear mounted turbo vs a middle mounted turbo? Installation will be into a WDX. Ideally not wanting to cut up the fire wall.
