I called American Wheel about re-centering into 17" wheels. Juan said that they could only go out to 8". He said that because it would be a drop center the PW center would have to be machined down and thus would lose part of the hand-hold. Labor would be about the same as re-centering 16" PW wheel into an 8" depth but they would get another $20 for the bigger rim. Thus, around $250 for a 17 x 8.
Any idea as to the depth of the VPW 17" re-centered wheels?
Also called Stockton Wheel. Their PW model is a flat plate wheel. Per the website, many more choices in diam., depth and finish. They don't recommend the chrome version. $235 approx.
