The overall dimensions are basically no different than if you did a 16" rim, but you get more space for brakes.
The VPW rims are very well made. 17" rims offer a lot more tire options than I saw for 16" rims since more modern trucks are going to larger rim sizes for the bigger brakes they are carrying.
37" is really the right size, I went with 35's and one of these days need to swap them out for the bigger size, for road speed as much as looks but they are pricey.
