The studs in the axle casing that hold on the differential cover. One of them came loose, but won't come out or go back in. Its like its on a sloppy bearing in there somewhere. Anyone seen something like this before? Any hints how to attack it?

The other thing that's really odd about this is how poor shape most of the studs are in. Bashed threads, slightly mushroomed ends. I had to "refurbish" 15 out of 24 of the poor things. I don't understand how so many could have gotten damaged. They are pretty well tucked up and out of the way.
