I've done bodywork and painting for 30+ yrs and the prices I hear that people are paying to have their vehicles done just amaze me. there is ALOT of work involved but to 10 grand or more for a paint job is insane unless you are trying to win at the Grand National show. As far a painting it yourself goes, its not as easy as some of you make it sound but if your willing to take your time and either live with your mistakes or spend the time to redo things, maybe several times, go for it but my recommendation is use base/clear it hard to screw up putting the base on and if you get runs or dust in the clear it can usually be wet sanded and buffed out. just don't by the cheapest clear you find there is a lot of differences in how easy it is to buff out your mistakes.
