I must have met the same guy at the Iowa 80 Trucker's Jamboree last summer. I had my '51 B3PW there with my Von Ruden PTO chainsaw on display. This fella, probably about 30 years old, spots the truck from about 50 feet away. He starts saying, "Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. Yeah! THAT'S what I'm talking about," as he makes a b-line over to my truck. Of course he was one of those who likes to be heard above everyone else within a 100 foot radius.

He goes around and around the truck wiping all of the dust off of all the painted surfaces with the palms of his hands and then asks me if I have the trailer that goes with the truck? I'm like, "What trailer." he proceeded to tell me about the trailer that my "army jeep" was designed to pull with a driveshaft connected between the rear PTO on the truck and the drive flange on the axle of the trailer - so it would be 6-wheel drive and articulate in the middle.

The only saving grace was that he was not one of those that usually has a string of understudies/yes men/proteges following him absorbing the misinformation he is spreading around and snubbing their noses at anyone who tries to correct their fearless leader.

I don't much care for truck or car shows. Antique tractor shows can be just as bad when you get those guys who have no idea what a Power-Wagon is trying to tell everyone within earshot that army trucks should not be at a tractor show.

I thought you were going to make it to Rally25 Kevin. We could have sat around and swapped stories about our army jeeps.
