My '54 has had numerous paint jobs during it's lifetime, none professionally except for the original factory job.
I'd like to make it look better and am wondering if the previous coats should be removed to bare metal, and if so, how best to remove the multiple coats of color.
I've heard sand blasting can damage the metal. I've also heard there are other options like shells, glass, and other stuff.
My sheet metal is good so I dont want it damaged during the process.
Any ideas on how best to do this and if it can be done at home versus a paint shop?
If so, where can the abrasive and blaster be purchased?
