Power wagon field find

I have found a FFPW in a field that the owner said ran when parked. I am new to Power Wagons and I need some tech help. What should I take with me to see if it will run? It has a makeshift spare gas tank in the bed so I will bring gas. What else?? Spark plugs?? Do all 230's use the same?? He also said if I put gas in the card and played with the points it would start. Need help with playing with the points
