hence the warning not to run in 4x4 on dry pavement. on the slick, the diff ratio is too small to matter. the grand wagoneer we had had the old style 4wd. the salesman told us to run figure eights in a parking lot from time to time with the 4wd engaged to keep it lubricated. made sense to him, but not to anyone with an understanding about binding everything up!
