G, It is still going to wear things out. Not supposed to go over 40 in 4wd either. Drag, 'cause I used to shift my 74 CJ5 (4.27s, Dana 20 single stick) in an out of 4wd at any speed. I liked the safety feature for winter cruising in the mountains. Ya you can shift the 201 in and out as long as you are under 40ish.

I once heard it was to have the front axle pull while 4 wheeling. G

I've looked for 4.10s for the Dana 44... no luck
