My W500 likes lots of pumping of the gas and full choke. Even after it fires I need to pump the gas a little. I think the fuel bowl leaks down while sitting. The W300 wants 2 quick pumps, full choke until it starts and then push the choke in so it's about 1/4 choke. Then it will sit and idle without any additional gas.
I have always believed it best to disengage the clutch, freeing up the gears in the transmission. JH
