It is strange, I agree. My truck has the real heavy helper springs for the fire truck body/water load. I wonder if that has anything to do with it, but I cant see why ?

Its strange the 1960 Dodge Truck Parts Book does not list anything on springs for the W300. It appears to cover all other W300 parts I have looked for.
