Are the people working at Starbucks & Home Depot greedy too?
This is one reason I always prefer Ebay. You put a truck on & it sells for what the market determines it's worth.
I would be shocked if this truck didn't sell at least in the $50K range at any large collector car auction.
People need to understand that these trucks are no longer 4x4's & farm trucks...they're collector trucks. Sure, we can hop in them & take them out on the back roads & up the mountain to bring back memories of days gone by....but lets be realistic here...if I was going on a Safari or to Alaska, I'd not be firing up the ol' WDX.
BZ has it exactly correct...if you're big into 4x4...buy a buggy, buy a Jeep....buy a new Unimog. If you want a classic truck...probobly the best design I've personally ever seen in a pickup truck....that's a Dodge Power Wagon.
Capable? yes. Impractical? In demand by collectors with $$? yes
