call a high end restoration shop and discuss a number true 1 quality restoration. im talking cad plating all hardware, rebuilding every component and leaving nothing untouched. have a 1940s vehicle? - paint it using lacquer or whatever was real at the time. have chrome on your ride? you could be in for a couple of grand just plating the few chrome items on a ffpw to show or NOS standards. no matter what you are restoring and what you start with, a true number 1 vehicle is monster expensive to build and often cannot be sold at a profit. go to a real car show, not a local event and really examine a true #1 restored vehicle and i bet that owner wont tell you he has 120k in the 57 chevy he cant sell for 60g. A new power wagon is nice, but compared to the orig it is pure crap. NOTHING at any price compares to the lines, function or honest approach taken by the FFPW to accomplishing a task.
