Gas tank help...

Hi everyone,

I have a 1963 Town Wagon. I haven't checked the gas tank yet, but am assuming that there is likely a fair amount of sludge / junk in it. It has sat for years with no fuel cap on it...

I'm considering pulling the tank and having it boiled at a radiator shop. Sound like a reasonable plan?

Are there new tanks available? Anyone know from whom?

Lastly, I've read about the new compounds for coating the insides of the tanks. Honestly, they scare me as I'm not confident that they will hold up over the long term.

What about having the tank hot dip galvanized?

Thoughts?
