Check the sender after removing it from the tank to make sure it works. Connect the sending unit's wire and hold the sending unit aginst the frame and move the arm up and down. If it does, then I would try cleaning the screw holes with a tap to clean the threads, use new screws. Attach a ground wire to one of the screws and to the truck frame. On an opposite screw, hold your tank sending and move the sending unit arm to see if it reads before reinstalling. You need at least one screw to work for a ground, if the outside of the tank is coated. I don't know anything about renu's process, but if it's not metal, then the screw holes are going to be the key to solving this.
