Is the long snout needed for the extra belts? If so, then serpentines would have a short snout? Wouldn't gas milage conscious 'modern' designers want to keep things small? less hood= less drag?

I'm not trying to push Will into anything, I'm just thinking out loud and looking for feedback. It seems one of the problems of customising old trucks is how to drive a PS pump and an AC and a larger alternator dependably on an engine that doesn't have room for 4 belts.

Re: belt lengths. Industrially speaking, they are called "muti-vee" belts, and are stocked in different lengths and rib counts, as well as single and double sided. My first experience with them was a Sears air compressor, circa 1981?

Will I be the first on my block to go serpentine on a 230????
