Unless you have a full-flow oil filter, you should use non-detergent oil. Non-detergent lets the dirt settle out. Detergent oil keeps the dirt suspended in the oil. This is OK if you are running all the oil through a filter. Otherwise, you are circulating the dirt right through your bearings.
