That is true and a good reason why most people don't like non-detergent oil. Frequent oil changes will probbaly protect you.
I would rather thave that gunk build up on the inside of the crank case than circulate through my bearings.
You probably know that you don't want to put detergent oil in an old dirty motor, because it will start disolving all that old gunk.
