I am SO sick and tired of seeing "Restored" trucks in these articles!

Before I go any futher let me say I mean no offence to the owners of "Restored vehicles"
But I am sick and tired of it! Articles that cannot even get the correct facts on models much less years? "I really like the spartan look of these things!"

Oh really? Then why the heck did you take out that bench seat and stick a couple Mustang seats in it? And I'm sure you put that "Tilt" steering wheel in there because it "fits the year" and looks cool!

I guess this is a good reminder for those of us sick of these "trailer queens" that are popping up all over to get our butts in gear and write some stories of the things we love about our old trucks...You know like the dent bubba put in the rear fender backing over the yugo last year and how about that scratch in the door from when we ran into that big tree out in the pasture and it fell down with just a little scratch in the door!

New paint is nice, a comfy seat is nice, being too damn worried that my kid is going to take his hotwheels car and run it over the fender of some $10,000 paint job on a truck that originally cost what?....$1800?!?

I hope my boys remember getting muddy and dirty and smelling like grease when they think about dads old trucks and how tough they were and how dad wasn't worried about a little scratch (or even a big one) for that matter. They use my trucks as walking billboards of their newest learned word from school, or writting there names up and down the hood in sidewalk chalk, these are the things I hope they think about years from now. Not how much $$ dad spent to make that old truck look like something it was never meant to be, but how little dad ever spent on that old truck that just seemed to run forever!

I'm guilty of not putting my stories into print, Gordon I'm sure would jump at the chance to post the story of when I bought my first Command Car and got two tickets while in route to buy it and then four month later when going to get it get puilled over just to remember that...WHOOPS! I forgot to pay that ticket and got my butt hauuled off to Jail!!

Thats just a super condensed issue of the story, I've got to write these things down!

Treasure your worn out old paint! Treasure the fact that your kids can climb all over the truck and you love to watch them do it!
Revel in the idea that there's mud under that truck from the last three years IA trail rides not to mention TX mud (that's you Jill and the PPE)

I love sun burned old paint! I wonder if I can get Carol some fingernail polish just that color!Hmmmmm.

P.S Yes folks I do love to look at a nicely restored truck! I appreciate everything it takes to do one, Yes i'm jealous when I see a nice one and I think, hey thats a nice truck! I don't mean anything bad about the restored ones, I just wish we worshipped the "OLD PAINT" like we do the "NEW PAINT"

Rant off.
