More advice needed.

Did these PW's always come factory-painted with black fenders and running boards? I assume that one could order everything painted one color, as a special request. But I have generally seen them, advertised and in real life, in two-tone. The exceptions I've seen personally were (all-)red firetrucks.

I am leaning toward dark green with black fenders, but the questions still nag.

Did the fenders, etc. always come only in black? Or could you order light green and dark green two-tone, as an example?

Is there a favorite color scheme among you folks? Should I stick with the choices that were available in 1956? Am I committing heresy by choosing a non-1956 color?

My headache is coming back.
