305mm is the section width of the tire
when mounted on the correct width wheel
70 or 85 is the aspect ratio (ratio of the height to width)
easy 305mm= 12in (close) x 70% = 8.4high side
x 85% =10.2high side
8.4x2 = 16.8+17in (hole in center) = 33.8OD
10.2x2= 20.4+16in (hole in center) = 36.4OD
these are approx and do vary on the rim width
need to convert metric width to inches first
makes it a bit easier 305/25.4 = 12in
