Well, I finally broke down and got a copy of Henri-Georges Clouzoy's "Wages of Fear". Its available in the original un-cut version on DVD.
A very interesting French movie of the early 1950's, I found it very enjoyable as a vintage foreign film. As described, it portrays a mixed lot of drifters in remote a SA oil town who will do anything to scrape up the air fare out of town. Character development, dialogue and acting are well done. Editing which softened the implied criticism against corperate oil interests has been lost in this edition.
The Power Wagon content was minimal; one scene driving an open cab FF (looked a lot like the Danish open cabs VPW had) down a flat dirt road in the desert; not nuch action. A larger (3 ton/older?) Dodge truck plays a larger role in the film as two teams haulJerry cans of nitroglycerine 300 miles along the oil pipeline.
Worth watching.
