Great topic, Lube.
My first truck was my 1953 M37. I bought it in 1999. Like so many M37s, it used to belong to a fire department in the area, so it is probably one of the trucks I saw around as a kid. I found it at a used auto parts place in '95 but couldn't get it then, then found it in '99 while on leave from the Army. My parents stored it for me for a coupe of years.
I grew up in trucks. My dad had a '73 Ford 1/2 ton w/302 and 3 speed on the column that I drove some in high school, and he has a '49 Ford that has been in need of a restoration for a long time. I drove a Datsun 4x4 during much of college.
I learned to drive (on the road, anyway) in a '63 Plymouth Valiant with /6 and 3 speed on the column. That little 4-door was fun to drive. My younger brother has one pretty much just like it (and a '63 Valiant convertible with push-button auto; my wife and I drove it with the top down from the church to the reception when we we got married in Dec. '92).
