Is the winch drive shaft solid or hollow?

I bought what I thought was a winch drive shaft. But now I'm thinking otherwise.

It's hollow, ~2" in diameter, two peice and ~48" long when compressed. Has a peice connected to it that fits the PTO (reason I thought it was correct). I don't have my winch intalled yet, so I haven't checked the fit/length.

The reason I'm doubting this may be for the winch is that I've seen trucks with solid shafts.

Do I have the right one? The person I bought it off of has another solid shaft approx. the same length that's hexagonal that I can get if this is the wrong one.

Oh yeah, this is for my '49 flat fender.
