That's a fine job of the new panel. I can see from the old pics the bodyline above it was fairly moth-eaten and I know from experience that metal is fairly thin.
What are you using to build up the edges of the original panel before attaching new metal to it Paul ?
I have a solid '39 cab with a rotten header panel. Most of it will just cut back to solid all the way round before I put the new section in, but I have to make a joint all the way across the top of the screen on sound(-ish)but thin original metal, and I know if I put the MIG anywhere near it I'll just blow through it. Currently I plan to clean it and spotweld a strip of new metal to the edge before welding to it but I'd like to know how you attached the top edges of those sidew.
