Wonder how they know it's a Spitfire?

I wonder how they know it's a "spitfire"?

The engine is described as a short block which I take to mean that it has no head or valvetrain.

If I recall they isn't any difference in the blocks between a regular 251 and one with a "spitfire" head.

Right?
