Jonas, I've built 383s (stroked 350, bored .030 over, bearings ground .010, 400 sb crank/harmonic balancer/flywheel) these are real torque monsters. In the GM hot-rod world they're refered to as 'dragon slayers' ('cause there aren't many big blocks that can put out this kind of pound for pound power/torque) and 'stump pullers'. The 400 turbo was used for years by Jaguar behind their V-12s, the 383 with 400 is a good match. The TBI can be canned for a carb if you don't have a pressurized fuel line. A built 383 is like that Mazda commercial; zoom, zoom, zoooooom...
