I took the coil down to the local AutoZone where they can check to make sure the electricals are working, and everything checked out fine on the coil. I even have an older one that I know works and it wouldn't fire the truck either. Low voltage is coming from somewhere ahead of the coil and the ceramic resistor.
I'm thinking that one or both of the coil leads that run back to the ignition switch have broken down, or the switch itself. But if it's not the coil leads then how do you troubleshoot an ignition switch??
