First of all, I have NEVER sold a title and tag to ANYONE, I am well aware of the legal ramifications, and it is not worth the risk to me.
Never have I mentioned the use of old tags on different trucks, but I am aware of the pratice.
If I buy a truck for "parts" and then apply for a new title, what laws have I broken?
If I buy a truck for parts, and then it gets stripped, how am I cheating the state the truck was bought in?
Do you seriously think the trucks I buy out of state with titles generate funds in that state when I retitle them in mine?
I don't think so!
I cheat nobody when I buy a truck for parts, and take it apart, nobody loses, many people gain, and I am not required to turn in the title, or do anything else, I just can't reuse that title on another truck.
Please explain how buying a truck in a given state, generates ANY revenue in that state unless I title it there, the truck already having a title not withstanding.
No money needs to be paid to the state, and no money will be paid to the state, UNLESS I want to title it in that state. Sales tax is paid in MY state when I get home, if I pay the original state, I pay TWICE. Not done anywhere I know of.
Anyway, sorry you got burned, and you are correct, titles are a good thing to get with a truck.
I am done with this thread, and unless you choose to give your e-mail address so I can see who you are, I am done with you.
I don't like to be accused of things I have never done, get your facts straight, and we can talk.
Thanks for sharing!
Eric
