It sounds like you might have a bad (corroded) connection on the temp sender or a temp sender going south. In any event, the two places that I'd take a Cummins to in Pittsburg are: Diesel Injection of Pittsburg which is a large Cummins shop that also speciallizes in upgrading the B and C series as well as working on the bigger truck engines (they are enthusiast Cummins folks who used to work at the factory...), or I would talk to the folks at the local Cummins distributor (Cummins Interstate Power). In both cases, you get to talk to a Cummins person who knows your powerplant and will not be happy that you are having problems with the engine...
