building pumpkins

With Halloween around the corner, I thought I'd ask if anyone on the list (who is not a mechanic) has ever rebuilt the front and rear pumpkins on their trucks. I am contemplating doing the rebuild on my diffs myself (it looks easy in the books!!!) but wonder if this is beyond the average guy. I'm talking about red lead, the whole nine yards.
