if its the rear axle assembly do the following.

1 back off brake pads. use brake cam adjustments to adjust pads away from drums

2 remove the bolts holding the axle flange to the hub. use the puller screws that are threaded into the flange to "push" the axle shaft away from the hub.

3. remove the axle shafts

4. remove the outer rear seal

5. use the correct socket to remove the outer spindle nut, the lock ring, and the inner nut.

6. pull the brake drum away from the vehicle with the hub attached. be careful not to damage the spindle's sealing surface or threads.

7. inspect brakes and replace all bad items. rebuilding is usually not worth it as parts are pretty cheap.

8. with the axles out you can now remove the third member and change the gasket. there are no c-clips to mess with on a dodge

good luck.

the front is generally the same, but i have not pulled the front axles. there are a few types of axles so more info would be required. good luck. mannyc

p.s. removing the hubs and the drums together keeps the parts matched. it also will enable a GOOD HEAVY truck to use the hub to turn the drums if needed.
