Just received the news that a friend of the family was just hit by a train. She is only 18 years old and a heck of a nice young lady. She is alive but very seriously hurt.
I was amazed at a tv program the other day that stated that a vehicle/train collision happens about every 10 minutes somewhere in the US.
I think that one of the prime culprits might be the fact that some vehicles stall out on the tracks after coming to a complete stop to check for trains in the rural areas. Many people then flood the engine trying to restart and then make the mistake of staying with their vehicle instead of getting clear of the danger zone.
Just a reminder that even though you just finished restoring your PW, leave it on the tracks and run away if there is the slightest indication a train is coming. They are incredibly fast and stop slower than a PW with brake fade.
Best Wishes
